Τραγωδία στην άσφαλτο με έναν νεκρό και δύο τραυματίες σημειώθηκε στην επαρχιακή οδό Γαργαλιάνοι – Ρωμανός στο ύψος της Αγίας Παρασκευής όταν νεκροφόρα συγκρούστηκε με Ι.Χ. κλούβα.
Όλοι διακομίστηκαν με ασθενοφόρα του ΕΚΑΒ στο Νοσοκομείο της Κυπαρισσίας, ωστόσο λίγη ώρα αργότερα η συνοδηγός του ΙΧ, μια γυναίκα ηλικίας 50 ετών κατέληξε παρά τις προσπάθειες των γιατρών να την κρατήσουν στη ζωή.
Από τη σύγκρουση τραυματίστηκαν σοβαρά ο οδηγός της νεκροφόρας και ο οδηγός του ΙΧ οχήματος, αλλά και 2 ακόμα εργάτες που επέβαιναν στην κλούβα.
Όλοι διακομίστηκαν με ασθενοφόρα του ΕΚΑΒ στο Νοσοκομείο της Κυπαρισσίας.
Επίσης, ο οδηγός του ΙΧ διακομίζεται αυτή την ώρα στο Γενικό Νοσοκομείο Καλαμάτας.
Το τροχαίο δυστύχημα συνέβη όταν νεκροφόρα με κατεύθυνση προς την Πύλο συγκρούστηκε με ΙΧ αυτοκίνητο κλούβα, που βγήκε από παρακείμενο δρόμο, στην επαρχιακή οδό
Αξίζει να σημειωθεί ότι σύμφωνα με πληροφορίες, η νεκροφόρα πήγαινε σε κηδεία που θα τελούνταν μεταφέροντας σορό νεκρού. Για το λόγο αυτό στο σημείο της σύγκρουσης έσπευσε άλλη νεκροφόρα από το γραφείο κηδειών μετά το συμβάν για την παραλαβή και μεταφορά της σορού.
Το Ι.Χ. αυτοκίνητο – κλούβα, έφερε τρέιλερ φορτωμένο με ραβδιστικό μηχάνημα και εργαλεία ελαιοσυγκομιδής.
Στο σημείο έσπευσαν πυροσβέστες από την Π.Υ. Γαργαλιάνων για απεγκλωβισμό των τραυματιών και περιπολικό του Α.Τ. Γαργαλιάνων.
